3-3-2
Arr Sunday, the day of rest. That is unless you spent the whole of Saturday pissing about and now have quite a lot of work to do.
Not been up to anything quite that remarkable recently, went into Vancouver a few days ago for Beer and supplies (got another free T-shirt with the beer). Friday night I went out with a load of people first to Keorners, then the Gallery (both pub type bars) then to the pit (Shitty wanna be club) I managed to get pretty drunk and so endured the pit for longer than normal, before returning back. Last night there was a Tiki Party on for our res. Getting back to res at 9ish after the GP, I decided that since other people had gone into town I may-as-well get pissed and go. That was a big mistake, the pre-drinking was fun, but the night its self was awful, and so I returned back to talk to a few people.
T-night might go watch a film, but I think Im going out for Sushi first, which will be a welcome change to the shit they feed us in the café.
1-3-2
Last night, didnt do that much went swimming and sorted out some stuff. Im not facing a dilemma because my 10Gb Hard Drive is now over 4Gb full of music, and I need more room. I think a lot of CDs will need to be burnt. This fact isnt helped by the fact that my mate from last year now is sharing 610 MP3 Music albums, and most of which I wouldnt mind having.
Got some more results back to day, I managed to get 87% in Earth and the Solar System, still waiting for 2 midterms though. Im also pretty worried about my Dissertation now, which I think I will need to base in England, and do over the summer because I dont have enough time here.(though I would love to stay).
Gonna chill out, and watch a film this afternoon, a film may be in order. Qualifying for the Australian GP is on later then going to Keorners to get drunk.
Due to some bugger up, yesterdays post didnt go on, but I have added it now, check below.
28-02-02
Having a well go day today! First of all I didnt fail Geography, I got 14 out of 25 which is still bad, but not as bad as I thought. Then In Bio I spent most of the lesson talking to some girl, who is going on exchange to Australia next year. I also managed to win a snickers bar, for answering some question in class. At the end of the class we got our midterms back and some how I had got 80%, the class average is 57% and only 9 people had got 80 or higher out of the 145. Because the average is so low, she is thinking of raising all the marks by 10% too, which would be like a super-high A+! This proves that intelligence can win out, even with little effort. After Bio, I sat about with Courtney for a wile, talking about stuff, then went to see my TA, who wasnt there, arse. I have just got back form getting some sandwiched from the café, where a particularly cute girl stared talking to me, asking me if I had been swimming recently, I guess I had been swimming with her, or seen her swimming some time. But in any event its always good if a cute girl come up to you and talks to you, and its you who dont know who are.
Yesterday afternoon, Matt, Swede and I went to this computer games place in the village (just of Campus) and played Counterstrike for a few hours, where we meet up with Boulton and Greg. Its a pretty cool game, but I dont think I will be going there when you have to start paying to play there. Later on I went to the Gallery (a bar on Campus) with some of First floor, then we went on to the pit (kinda like a shitty club and bad bar rolled into one). I got incredibly drunk, so say I spent hardly any money, but I now have quite a few beer debts.
Going to do some work now, then possibly go ice skating or swimming.
27-02-02
Yesterday I had quite a relaxing day, and managed to do quite a bit too, and see lots of people. After class I came back and pissed about, cleaned my room, then went to the sub for some stuff. I found out that a plane home from Montreal or Toronto are both $400 CN, which is about 190 GBP, that means that I will have spent only 470 GBP on flying, getting 2 one-ways, compared to the 600-800 everyone else paid. All I have to do now, is work out when I want to come home, which can be from Monday the 10th of June to Thursday the 14th, not sure yet, but the 10th is probably best.
After that I met Leigh (Matts Girl Friend) and I went back to hers for a bit. After Tea, I did some work then went to the Cinema to see Lord of the Rings again, which was still brilliant, the battle scenes are amazing, but I was so tired.
Need to get back into work today, and might sleep for a bit too.

My Trip to Mexico by Daniel Watson
Over my reading week I went on a trip to Mexico with some guys from my house:
T$ - House president, and generally quite juvenile
Pat - Ausi fool
Punk Chris - A guy Named Chris, who like punk music
Chris Couch - Studies forestry, Nice guy.
Max - from Malaysia, 17, speaks Spanish and knows his way around stuff.
Friday
We set of from campus at 7:30 in the morning (a crazy time I know) and got on the bus by 9:45. We then played cards and talked and got very very, very bored. We managed to pick up some weed and stuff in Seattle, but decided not to use it till we got nearer the border.
Saturday
Continued to play cards and talk and get bored. At about 5:20, finally got into LA, 50 mins, late and so mist the transfer and had to hang about in LA until the next bus came. We hung about in the bus station, cos its in a well dodge area of the city. Finally at about 9:30 get into San Diego, where we look around for ages to find a hotel. Getting a motel (paying for 2 sleeping 6) we start to drink (well some of us started before that). The drink in the States is mega cheap $1.45 for a 40oz, 4 of which will get you very drunk, in my case drunk enough to be sick, if you havent eaten much the rest of the day. Then pass out and sleep.
Sunday
Get up with a bad-bad hang over and go for all you can eat pizza, but didnt actually get any. It now began to rain, then we took the bus to the Mexican Border. The boarder is incredibly lax, its a turn stile, then pass a guy with a machine gun, then another turn stile. We then got a taxi to Roserito (talked them down from $15 each to $5 thinking that was good, later we got all the taxies for $1 each), where after looking in a few hotels we found one and moved in 6 people, 2 rooms, 4 beds. We went in the hotel Jacuzzi that was extremely migin and left a scum on your back, probably not a good idea in retrospect. Punk Chris managed to block out toilet, which proved very annoying. That night we went out to the local clubs and managed to find all you can drink for $5 which was amazing, so we drank up and got wasted. Though out the night we went to a few different bars and clubs, and managed to get thrown out of Papas and Beer the biggest one.
Monday
Got up, cant remember most of the day, but we basically wandered about Roserito and the beach, and smoked up and drank. We also changed hotel rooms for some reason getting upgraded to ones with a sea view and a TV, dunno why, but it was cool. Within the day we had managed to destroy both toilets and flood the bathrooms, I dunno how, I did one and havent a clue what happened to the other. Then went out to Tijuana and found all you can drink for $4 so got drunk in a total dead club playing crazy drinking games. When we returned, Pat who was in the other room with T$ and Couch, puked up big time, but not just normal puke, no, Black puke which looked like mud. He Managed to do it all over couched stuff to, which sucked.
Tuesday
Earlier in the week some time we had met a guy galled Daniel who was one of the pushers for the local clubs, be had arranged to show us round Tijuana. So we went with him and looked round the non-touristy side of Tijuana. There were prostitutes everywhere and so much poverty. The police (who quite often batter and steel from tourists) were not there as much instead there were the Federalies, who carried round Machine guns and looked hard. We had a well good dinner in a restaurant for $3, before and after this pretty much all we ate was tacos and Quasideas, which are ok and cheap, but very repetitive. In the afternoon we went back and smoked up on the beach, then returned to Tijuana after tea. When back in Tijuana we went to numerous strip bars, which all played strange music, well not strange but music you wouldnt normally associate with a stip bar, like U2, The Beatles and Duran Duran (which I obviously liked), it was quite an enjoyable night.
Wednesday
We laid in all morning in bed, then got up and went down to the beach, where we sat about for a bit then went on a horse ride, which was amazing. I dont know how horse riders can walk after they get of, it bloody hurts, but is such good fun. That night is college night in Tijuana, so we went out, and had to pay $10 for all you can drink, which is way too much really, but got pretty drunk. We all stayed together most of the time, then split up, Me, Max and Chris Couch getting bored and going to another club. The other club was a Mexican one, and we were the only white people in it. We sat down with 2 guys (in there 40s) and drank, talking about stuff. I was cool and a lot different than most of the touristy clubs.
Thursday
We got up well late, it way very windy, but very, very hot, so we went down to the beach to piss about. Lied down for a wile listening to music then played in the Pacific Ocean in the waves. This was probably the most fun I had, it was great just getting knocked back 10 meters by the sheer power of the water, crazy. That night we met up with some girls for a smoke and then went to bed relatively early, after sitting about watching TV and stuff.
Friday
Time to go back, left for San Diego at mid-day, and it took ages to get back into the US, there were huge queues at the boarder, which sucked in the very hot weather. However we met there 2 guys who asked us if we wanted to come back for a wile to chill until are bus left. After negotiating the border this time with 7L of Tequila and a flick knife (probably not a good idea Max). We went to the guys house and watch the Olympics for a wile and talked. I have to say that this trip in the whole has made me thing even less about the arrogant opinionated fat Americans, but it was nice of them to ask us round, even with there supremacist views. We then got the bus at 8:30.
Saturday
More stupid bus, we stopped for dinner at this out the way place were everything was shut, then at 12:30am (Sunday) stopped for and hour and a half to clean the bus. Thats messed up, stupid scheduling!
Sunday
5am, got into Seattle, and sat about for 3 hours for our connection, boring. Getting Back to Vancouver at about 13:30.
Though out Saturday and Sunday afternoon, I had been revising for the mid-term today, which was crap, and I dunno how well I have done yet.
Its now Monday and I have just finished e-mailing about a million people, very tired and with lots of work to do over the next few days. Wishing I was back in sunny warm Mexico with nothing to do except get wasted and Eat Tacos.
14-02-02 Finally finished all them stupid exams, just a bit of write up left now. The exams this morning were rather strange, the first one for Geographies of BC, was hard, very very hard. I think I managed to guess about 805 of it, and made up the rest. It included questions like: What is the difference between terrane and terrain? I was very tempted to put the Spelling but instead made up some crap about it. I really havent got a clue, in my notes (the once I took) its always spell terraine so that doesnt really help at all. The second exam was Bio 302, which was, or rather seamed amazingly easy, so not sure about that, but should have done well. Which means this term Im currently looking at 2 really good courses 2 average courses and one all out failure. I have just been out to get some Money for the trip tomorrow (Mexico one) getting pretty exited now, its all coming together. Were having a meeting tonight, to find out where we are going exactly, the destination of Mexico is now seaming like quite a big place. I will take my digital camera though, but need to make minor repairs first, by some how taping the battery in, so I will get some pics. Going to get wasted tonight, once I get this work done though, so I think its gonna be a week and a bit of drunkenness starting tonight, and spanning across a continent. And dont worry I will watch out for the thieving Mexicans
13-02-02 In a well good mood, cos both of my exams went very easily today, now only 2 left! So more dam revision later I guess, bugger. Yesterday I did revision for 2 hours, then went swimming in the afternoon, which was a good break. In the evening we went to the library for an intense 3 and a half-hours study period then went to the pit for a few drinks. Also check out: http://www.sky.com/skysports/article/0,,13040-1042087,00.html it looks like the GPs are gonna be on Sky Digital with super good coverage, cant wait till the season starts on the 3rd. (though wont have access to sky until June) 2 days until Mexico, and only 2 exams left, so its all good!
10-02-02 Went on a field trip today, which was pretty cool, didnt learn much but had fun playing with Sand, silt and clay. Also drove round loads of places I had never been, and found that the US- Canadian border is nothing more that posts ever 1/2 km at some points, making it very easy to jump from one side to another. Last night watched Armageddon, cos Matt had got it on DVD, the watching re-affirmed its positions of one of my top 5 worst films ever, which also includes, The Mummy Returns and Forces of Nature (not totally sure what else). Not much planned for next week mainly revision for my 4 exams on Wednesday and Thursday, then probably leaving for Mexico on the Friday. IF ANY ONE CAN GET MY MUM TO E-MAIL ME, PLEASE DO SO AS I NEED TO GET SOME ANSWERS ABOUT MONEY.
09-02-02 Had quite a productive day, managed to get up at 10am, then go to the library and do some much needed revision (or Learning) of my Bio. Then came back and planned out summer with Andy, so we now have a rough schedule. Gonna leave Vancouver on the 26th of April, and then travel about then have a few days in Chicago, with Jenn (from last Year) then a week in Toronto with Matt. Finishing of watching the Canadian GP, the flying home on the 10th of June I think. I think once at home, I'm gonna visit people at there Unis, including Bristol, Warwick, Lancaster and possible a few more. Anyway also today I managed to apply for a credit card, and then get more work done. Tonight I'm gonna do more work, then watch a film and have a few drinks. Tomorrow I have a field trip, which should be pretty good fun, if a bit boring with all the Rocks. Last night, I went to the cinema to see K-PAX, which was an ok film, kept my interest all the time, but not worth watching again. If you have the chance to see it, it's worth it. That being said I had been drinking before we watched it. After that I went to the Pit with Clare, and met up with some other English guys and talked.
08-02-02 Hurmm, not really been up to that much over the last few day, had quite a bit of work on, and other wise slept and drunk. Yesterday I managed to go into town for some essentials, like toothbrush, toothpaste and more Beer. I have 4 exams next week, so going to go and get wasted tonight. I also have a field trip on Sunday, which has to be wrote up for next Friday, so gonna get wasted tomorrow too. The week after I have reading week. Not sure what Im gonna get up to, so far possibly include: 1/. Mexico 2/. Sleeping and drinking 3/. Sleeping, drinking and skiing at Big White (or Whistler) At the moment Mexico defiantly sounds tempting, but that means having to go on a bus for a Day and 9 Hours to get there, and again to get back.
5-02-02 Hurmm, not updated for a bit, but I have been doing lots and had a lot of work on. Last night I went out with Andy and his Mate Jenny (from home) to Koerners. Before that we had been on an All-you-can-eat Sushi binge down town as a floor meal. I ate enough raw fish to kill an army, but its soooo good! On Sunday Andy, Jenny and I went snow boarding, which was great, had to get up at 7 though. We went to Grouse Mountain (just the other side of Vancouver) on the bus. Grouse is open from 9am till 10pm, with flood lit skiing/riding areas, so we stayed till about 9pm, then came back. I learnt how to turn properly from front to back, something that I could do on a dry slope but not on snow before. I think I can talk Andy to go more often now, so I might get pretty good by the end of the year. I phoned up my future housemates today, and I apparently have a pretty big room, with a big bed, which will be a change from the poxy one I have here. Digital TV doesn't sound lightly though. It sounds like it will be a good laugh though!! It looks like a hell of a lot of work for the next few days/weeks till spring Break in 2 weeks, when I'm either gonna go to Corona and Ski or go to Mexico, so need to plan that soon.
2-2-2 (nice Date!) Last night I went out to a bar down town, with Matt, Leigh, Swede and Rachel. We all had a great time there, but I drunk more than expected. This morning had a mega hangover, from about 8:15 (when I woke up) till about 11am, this in old school terms wasn't that bad, but I haven't had a hang over for ages so it annoyed me. Anyway I ended up watching 'The Breakfast Club' which wasn't that good a movie, but the sound track was ace. The dance/band thing didn't work out, cos the tickets were sold out to soon, and I didn't manages to get one, but it looks like fait my have been working for me there. Tomorrow I'm going snowboarding with Andy and his mate whos coming up from home. Where going up a local mountain, 'Grouse Mountain' and since no of us can snowboard, will be falling back down it several time I reccon.
31-01-02 Last night I went to a Canucks game yesterday, a really well played game, for both teams. The score being 2-2 after OT, with Edmonton scoring the early 2 goals in the second period, and Vancouver coming back after that. The games was amazing to watch, despite a clear lack of fights. Tonight I'm wanna go out and get wasted, but Im nackered so might leave it till tomorrow. Tomorrow there is a big Dance-think happening with a Band called Gob playing (some Canadian band. Other wise I might just go and drink at a few bars, and talk to random people.
29-01-02 Got wasted yesterday night, at Keorners. We got there at about 10 and so had to queue up to get in, which sucked. Once in we first sat with Rose (whos Birthday it was) and a load of First Floor, later Matt and I ended up talking to Leigh (Matts Girl Friend) and her mates. Some how I managed to get more drunk than any time recently, which was pretty cool. Yet again managed to not get a hang over the next day too! Today not got that much done after class, going to try and work now and then watching Run Lola Run (one of the top 5 films ever).
28-01-02 Had another Mega productive day, following my unproductive weekend. Did class, including the boring Lab, which was pretty good this week for a change. Then went to town with Matt, who needed to get his (well his girl friends, brothers) licence back, which he had left on Friday night. Wile there I managed to close my HSBC account, which was brilliant, but didn't make enough of a scene apparently. When asked why I was closing it, simply replied 'Because its Crap!' then went on to tell the women about the appalling service. Also got a new pen, which will make my work legible once again, following the invisible ink I have be using. Then got Beer. Last night I layed down the ground work for my travelling this summer, which once again seams to be going into the US, this time on the Grey Hounds. We, well Andy has, found a cheap 60 US and Canada pass so, its looks like that's the way to travel. The basic idea being now: Vancouver Seattle Corvallis (Or) San Francisco LA Grand Canyon Las Vegas Salt Lake City Denver (a place in the middle) Chicago Toronto Montreal Ottawa Toronto Manchester Thornton. This should be quite good, starting on the 16th of April (when we get kicked out of res) and finishing on the 15th of June (at home). Sounds pretty cool, and should be afordable too, which is nice. Tonight were gonna go out to Keorners for Mellow Monday, and then have a relatively early night.
27-01-02 Friday night was crazy, we went for a expensive meal, to celebrate with Tyler, after starting drinking from about 4pm. The meal was ok, but certainly not that good, and in a wanna-be establishment. I had gone with Tyler, Andy, Matt, Julie and Adrian. After the meal Adrian suggested we go to a strip bar, cos she knew the owners daughter or something, so we all went, looking out of place. We got in for Free and got some free drinks, which was cool. A great time was had by all (can't remember much really) Saturday morning I woke up (hang-over-free) and decided I was too tired to get up properly so I watch some of the New Star Trek, that was on the Network (not that good and the crew all act like kids, always waiting for Al to Pop up and read out why he thinks Sams here) Later on in the day I finally got up and went swimming, did a good half mile then sat about in the hot tub. Yesterday night we watched a UBC hockey game, where UBC Thunder Birds, lost 3-1 to Lethbridge Horns (from Alberta) the game was entertaining though. Later on we just watched a few shows and went to bed. This morning its snowing loads, and its actually sticking now too (will add pics soon)I think today I have go get back on top of the old work, which sucks, but we might go out later on.
Snow Pics @ UBC 1 25-01-01 (Thank god its Friday) Wow, another week gone! That leaves 9 more and 2 of exams, with hopefully lots of skiing and good times ahead. Today has been relatively crazy, I think I got out of bed on the wrong side (and Late, only just made first class). This evening, I plan on establishing a good ground area of the wagon. Were gonna watch a film, and then get drunk. Tonight I'm going out with Tyler, Andy, Julie, Adrian, and Matt to a restaurant then out to a club down town, so the general consensus is that pre-drinking is in order, but I'm not to sure how much, cos I want to get my moneys worth out of the restaurant. Last night didn't end up doing much there was some crazy Res thing on where they tried to get all the 4th floor guys to dress up as girls, hurrrmmm I though to my self as I left to get away from it all. Tomorrow I should wake up ok, if all goes to plan, and do my Bio essay.
24-01-02 (Thursday) I think the house is finally sorted out, which is mega cool and such a weight of my chest. Did class today, then collected books (that have been waiting for over a week) then went Ice Skating. ice-skating was cool, went with Swede, Carly, Andy, Tyler and Matt, Carly (who is almost Pro) taught me to stop properly, which always helps. Yesterday just did work, rather boring really. In fact I can't remember what I did all afternoon after classes, so its can't have been that good.
22-01-01 Decided to forget class today and went of Skiing instead, which was defiantly a good idea so far. I went with: Swede who drove us in his parents huge diesel gussling mega truck. Greg Swedes mate, pretty cool, snow boards. Rose Girl from 2nd floor also cool. Dave Guy from 1st floor, cool too and a good skier. It was snowing in Vancouver and at Whistler this morning, which made for good skiing, well the snow at Whistler did, the snow at Vancouver was quite inconsequential. It went really nice after dinner too, and the skiing was brilliant. I skied with Dave in the morning looking for Rose who had got last, then with Swede and Greg in the afternoon. In the afternoon we went around finding loads of Jumps and stuff which was cool. I'm gonna put a few picks up (sorry still haven't got round to putting Christmas ones on yet, see the like below) Tonight gonna have an easy night and do nothing, perhaps watch a film and go to sleep.
Skiing at Blackcomb 21-01-02 Did quite a bit of good today, had my 3 classes then my lab, then finished of some course work. After the Lab I went for a walk on Wreck Beach, It was a geomorphology lab so it ended down there. Then went swimming, where I sat about in the hot tub for a wile then did an half-mile. Tonight I'm going out to Keorners just finished watching Futurama with a bit of Pre-drinkage in order to slow down the spending. I have also arranged to book the seats for the Canadian GP, ($200 for 3 days) and tided my room, a bit. Came a lot closer to finding my house for next year too. So all in all, quite a productive day.
20-01-02 Yesterday went into town to get stuff, and change money about, but like I should have known banks were all shut. Ended up eating at White spot which was good, to get away from the bad, bad caf food, but I'm swiftly running out of money now. Later on I went to a Foreign film night in the commons block we watched 2 films: 'La Lelle Epoque' which is apparently and Erotic comedy, but is really just wired. Probably not worth the effort to watch cos of the subs though. 'La Vita E Bella' (Life is Beautiful) which is a really good Italian film. I really enjoyed it quite funny, but also really harsh, well worth watching. Dunno what's going on today, but I might get some work done. No drinking tonight, like last night, gonna do a sober one, until Monday when Keorners will beg a drink or 6. Still haven't got a clue about the house for next year, which is looking worse and worse. It would be better if I could just stay here and finish Uni.
La Lelle Epoque La Vita e bella 19-01-02 Who's House????? RUNS HOUSE!!!!! Who's House????? I don't know, this is never gonna get sorted. Stupid houses for next year. Last night was pretty good though, started drinking at 5 when we went to the Geography Bzzr Garden on our 'house' bar crawl. I meet and was talking to one of my Proffs there, who was at least slightly inebriated, which was different. He told me to tell everyone that "the lab has been changed and were going into the field instead." (so there told you). At this Bzzr garden you needed to either buy your own cup or bring one, luckily in for-thought I had brought one, a big one, and it was filled all the way to the top each time. After that we went to the Ukrainian Bzzr Garden and got more drunk of Cheap Shots of Vodka. Then to the 'pride' garden and drunk more. We then returned to Cariboo, to have some pizza, and chill. A bit later on we carried on the crawl going to International house bar, which was dead, and then Keorners. This is where I begin to forget stuff, after that we went to the Pit, which was annoying but ok. Today I have woke up (originally by some pricks alarm clock at 7am, later at 10am on my own) and wanna go on some sort of crazy trip today, but dont know where or anything. Also running out of money big time, so I need a cheap crazy trip.
18-01-02 Happy Birthday Matthew!! Last night, went to see Leigh (Matts Girl Friend) in a Ice Hockey game, which was entertaining cos most of them had never played Ice hockey before. Then Watched TV and slept. Today I have had classes and continued to try and get the house thing sorted, its so annoying now. Going to GIC now to do work, then on a bar Crawl which starts at 5pm! Been looking at cars for when I get back home, it depends much on if I have a job, but it looks like Peugeot 106 or a Toyota Corolla would be best!
17-01-02 Just finished my Chocolate Orange, thanks Claire. Today I had 3 hours of class in the morning, then went with a walk with a girl from Bio. Went swimming with Andy, and did a good half-mile, then ate at the late time of 3:30. For the next 3 hours I was talking on the Internet to people, mainly trying to sort out a house for next year. Tonight were having Sundays and watching TV (part of Boo week) then Im gonna go see a hockey game and have few drinks in the Thunderbar. 16-01-02 (white trash Wednesday) Hurmm not done much worth saying today, worked and got Beer and stuff. Last night I fell asleep at about 11:45 and slept till 8:45 this morning, which was much needed. Spent most of the afternoon talking to people on MSN, trying to work out housing arrangements for next year. Check out the web link. Silly, silly boy!
Pop star Adam Ant sectioned 15-01-02 (Tuesday) Last night was good, we went to Keorners, later on though about 10. When we got there, their was a queue and I wasnt in the mood to queue up, so a girl suggested sneaking in the back way (last time I did over the wall we got thrown out) so I decided to go for the experience, and see what happens. So me, her and a guy she knew, went round to back. The Guy, 'Bubba' Knew another way in, which didnt involve any crawling or jumping, just walking, so we got in and then met some more people who were having a smoke in the beer garden, stood there a bit then went in, with the bar staff none the wiser. It turned out that Matt and Andy who I had gone with, just got in at about the same time though queuing up, but its the fun that counts. Anyway I met quite a few more people and drunk quite a bit. Today I have just done work, and talked to people from back home about stuff. Going to watch 'GO' tonight.
14-01-02 I don't like Mondays. Skiing was brilliant, but pretty icy conditions. We left on Friday at 3pm, and began drinking on the coach, I ended up having 9 bottles over the 7 hour duration of the coach ride. We did stop for KFC though, which is even worse than in the UK, the chips are like Burger King chips. When we got to the hotel we dumped out bags and went to the local bar, where sat about for a wile drinking, and I met tones of new people. I was staying in a room with Sarah (Victoria), Shannon and Joe, all of who didn't drink the night previously and so got up at 7! The skiing that morning wasn't too good because of the weather, which was snowy and windy. After Dinner the weather got really good, and Sarah and I did some great runs over the far side of the mountain. That night, we went to a club and got wasted, also talked to more people, then came back and after a small excursion to the rail yard, sat about and watch TV then went to bed. With out a hang over, again I got up early on Sunday for the day of skiing. The weather was really good, and so the skiing was better than Saturday. In the morning I skied with Sarah, Shannon and Marge, then later with Lexx and Jen. Finally I skied with a big group including Punk Chris and Dave from 1st floor. I was surprised I could easily keep up with them. Though out the weekend I had bee skiing to music, and found that along with late 80s/ early 90 Dance, industrial stuff was really good to ski too. The coach ride home took ages (seamed like days in comparison to the ride there when we were drinking). Today I had to miss a class to take my Skis back, and then had a Geomorphology lab, which was boring and annoying. After that went swimming and tonight I think I'm going of to Keorners, to drink some more. I have just realised I have wrote more now that I did for all of Christmas (I think), and also realised how much drinking I have been doing and need to cut down. Andys back from Maui now though so I have someone to go swimming with and do lengths (an effort to get fit). The week ahead looks like quite a lot of work, as my course work is now all starting. But its also Boo week, (boo being Cariboo, which is my house) so there should be lots of stuff to do in the evening and night.
11-01-02 Going skiing. Matt got my Skis, thanks Matt. Its all good.
Silver Star 10-01 2002 Not much happening today, tried to get skis but Matts Credit card was spent to much so have to get them tomorrow, bitch! Going to watch Terminator 2 at the Cinema tonight should be cool! Re-joined my boring 'Quaternary and Applied Geomorphology' class which I had quite, because it was in a stupid class room at a stupid time. But I now find I need to talk it apparently.
8-01-02 It's nice and warm here at the moment, yesterday getting to 14 Degrees C. Which is pretty good for life in generally, but possibly not that good for Skiing this weekend, however Silverstar is about 6hours way, inland so I bet its freezing there at the moment. Done all my classes for today, and going into town to try and book skis this afternoon, for this weekend. Then gonna sit about and watch a film. Last night we decided not to go to Keorners and instead, watched American Psycho, which I still think is a brilliant film.
7-1-02 Went skiing yesterday, to Whistler with Swede, Alexa and her sister Kate. The skiing was excellent, especially in the morning but it started snowing after dinner pretty badly. Didnt manage to do any memorable crashes though. It only ended up costing $30 with Lunch (14 GBP), which was brilliant, so I think that should be happening more. In fact Im skiing at Silver Star this weekend, but need to find out where to get skis from first. Today I have decided to drop my 'Quaternary and Applied Geomorphology' Course, cos its was boring and at 9am Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have also managed to sort out my entire course reading for this term today, and do lectures all in all, pretty good day. Saturday night Matt and I got out 'The Fast and the Furious' which I have to say is one totally to avoid, even 'Days of Thunder' is a better film! Not doing much tonight watching a film and having a few drinks.
5-1-02 Got well pissed on Cheap-cheap wine last night, and had a great night out, though cant remember much of it at all very well. This morning watched Reservoir dogs, and then hung about. I think this afternoon were are going to see a movie, possibly I-max, but Im not sure yet. Im now registered in 5 classes, which all finish by at most 12:30 every day, so except for 3 days this term when I have Bio labs, I dont work in Afternoons. Cos Im registered for 5 class I can drop one, and that looks very likely to be the 9am Monday, Wednesday, Friday one. Going skiing to Whistler tomorrow, with Sweed, Alexa and Alexas sister kate. Should be cool, but have to get up at 6:30.
3-01-02 Mega Productive day, got up at 9, for my classes from 9:30 to 12:30, which were boring cos its the start of the term. Then got package with some Christmas presents in, thanks Matt and Mum and Dad. Next met up with Matt, who is back from Toronto, and sat about playing his computer game, then went into town. In town I managed to get my hair cut (after 4 and a half months of growth!). Then we had white spot and came back. Last night, I stayed in and played GT3 on Encinos new PS2, and drank (arrr Drinking and Driving) Tonight I think were either gonna watch 2001 or Magnolia. Tomorrow I have 3 classes in the morning starting at 9am. Then Im gonna try and get into another class in the afternoon, to keep my options open, so if I can get in I will be doing 6 class, which means I can drop either 2 crap ones or 2 which are at silly times, next week.
2-1-2 (the Second) People are gradually getting back to uni, not much is happening. My neck is finally fixed. Er war ein Punker Und er lebte in der groBen Stadt Es war in Wien, war Vienna Wo er alles tat Er hatte Schulden denn er trank Doch ihn liebten alle Frauen Und jede rief: Come and rock me Amadeus Didnt go skiing cos of the neck (stupid not-being-able-to-look-right). But going for a drink to night, then start class at 9:30 tomorrow morning.
1-1-2 Back at UBC now, so I can update the web page again. Had a great Christmas, did tones of stuff. For the first week I went skiing at Whistler with Jerry from home, which was great. Managed one crash of about 15m that's all though. The first 3 days it was Blizzard conditions, but the last 4 were amazing and really really clear and good skiing. Then we both came back to Vancouver and hung about at UBC, went up Grouse Mountain, which was cool all snowy, so much different than it was last time I went up. And the Clear sky's meant that you could see for ages too. Christmas Day we went to the Aquarium and had Pizza, which was well different from what happens at home. After going to Seattle for the Day on Boxing day, Jerry was fighting out of there, I have been in Victoria. I was staying with Alexa, a girl I met last year at Lancaster, had a great time there, and met tones of new people. I will probably never see any of these people again, but its all good. Uni starts on the 3rd, and I might go skiing of the Day tomorrow to Cypress Mountain, (Bigger than Cypress Hill!), but I messed my Neck up, possibly because I slept in a silly position last night. I have got quite a few skiing pics that I will endeavour to put up soon.
14-12-01 Jerry gets here later on today, he got held up at Customs in Washington, and so missed one of his flights, and had to go via Chicago, meaning he was too later to get the bus to Vancouver once arriving at Seattle. Im at the moment, considering going back to sleep. Is very windy here, and over the night I was constantly woke up by the wind, and also because I was still drunk. The wind how brought the power down, for some reason we got it back for 15 minutes before but its gone again now. Last night I went out with Sweed & Matt Bolton, two guys who were on some of the Bar crawls, and were also in my Bio class, so other people, who I vaguely remember were there too. We got wasted at Keorners and stayed till they chucked us out, then I staggered back here, being almost blown away by the stupid wind. The night before was Matts last night here, and also the end of his exams and mine. So we went out, with Andrew from Totem, and got very wasted, at Keorners first then too the pit, for a wile. I saw a few people at the pit, not a clue who they were, but they knew me, which appeaser to be a re-occurring theme at the moment. Right not sure how Im meeting Jerry I think he will get in about 4ish, so I think Im gonna piss about here all morning till then. Hurmm, just as I was putting this up the first time, the power failed, again. Its just come back now, it about 3:30 now.
12-12-01 (Wednesday) Exams Finished! WOW, nothing to do this afternoon. I well suppose I could get my Christmas sorted, but thats not going to happen, I think a movie is more likely. Tonight, we are going out and get most wasted!! Exams Finished! Exams Finished! Exams Finished! Exams Finished!
10-12-01 Stupid Work !!!! Done work today, Learnt lots of Biology, including Tilman, Self Thinning Rule, Intra and Interspecific competition and many other Pop Favourites.
9-12-01 (Sunday) Hurmm, need to get back into the revision, hardly done any today again, but I think I might be able to get some done this afternoon. Managed to tide my room though, which makes a big change. Yesterday, I got now work done at all, in the afternoon, I read some Bio, but not much really and talked to some people from home on MSN, still dont know where I will live next year. By this time I had just about managed to shake off my hang over. Then we went out for Dinner at Earls, and then to the cinema and saw 'Spy Game' which is pretty good, nothing mind-blowing, but worth watching when you feel like paying a big of attention to a film. We then came back later and sat about and watched 'The Emperors New Groove' which was surprisingly good for a Disney film, with some pretty fun bits in it. Tonight Im gonna learn Biology and then sleep.
08-12-01 (hung over Saturday) Yesterday, I put a valiant fight against, Entomology. The out comes of which will not be evident until some time near Christmas. Last night, well I guess it started yesterday evening, I went out on a terrific bender. I'm still suffering the after effects now, dam them. I sat about here drinking for a wile then when to Keoreners with Claire, Andy, Sheena and Sarah. Later we were joined by T-$, Chris and Dave. So I stayed drinking with them for a wile. The I wondered about and met quite a lot of other exchange students, and stayed there till close (cant remember much) I then saw Andy of, he was getting a flight at 6am, and so left uni at 3 am. I woke up this morning with a major hang over and a strange graze on my food (where from, I don't know) I led in bed, watched Tomb Raider, Shittty film and then listened to Eddie Izzard ramble on for a bit. Dont know how much work I will get done today, so I might right today of, and make tomorrow a huge revision day.
06-12-01 (Thursday - Day of Hating Entomology 1) Just kicked Forestry and Agriculture's ass!! 2 - down 2 - to go, but Entomology is going to punish me tomorrow. Other than that, I haven't done much today, but I did managed to get some free ear plugs, lots and lots and lots of free ear plugs. Christmas is finally sorted, I'm skiing from the 15th to the 22nd, then staying in Vancouver, until about the 26th then might go to Seattle with Jerry who is flying out of from there. After that I'm planning to stay with Alexa, a girl I knew from last year, who live in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Between the 22nd and the 26th, Slocan Sarah has invited both me and Jerry to her house (thanks Sarah), but it takes about a day to get there, which would only give us 2 days, I think we might be better dossing about Vancouver.
05-12-01 (Wednesday) Not much cookin today, just been revising. I now know shit loads on Forestry and Agricultural Climatology for tomorrow, but still haven't taken in any of the Entomology, Bugger! I did manage to find the lyrics to Convoy on the internet though: Convoy 04-12-01 (Tuesday) Geography 210 Vancouver and its region, GONE Nice, but 3 more to go, and I need to start on the old work too. Last nigh I managed to get to sleep at 4:30 am, so increasable knakered and can't be arsed to do any work at all. I reccon there should be a better way of testing peoples ability than making people learn and memorise shit. Tyler's going home tomorrow morning at 3am, and Andy is going on Saturday morning. I'm beginning to regret staying here over Christmas a bit, but I can't wait to go skiing so it should be pretty cool really. 3-12-01 (more) Its snowing, so we went out and took some pics, none of them came out except the one of Tylers Ass.
03-12-01 (Monday) Got some more revision done today, its amazing how long a day takes to pass by, when you put all you sub conscious effort into procrastination. I have though got some Vancouver and its Region work done, the exam is at 2:30 tomorrow. I have also wrote the stupid essay thing for Lancaster, that took an hour or so, and pissed me off. I dont want too be doing stupid, not even marked Lancaster stuff the day before a final. Tonight going to do some work and watch a film later on (10:30ish). Last night Matt Leigh and I watch 'The Family Man' with Nick Cage, he annoys me, the film was pretty mediocre, but probably worth watching if you have nothing better to do than revision. 2-12-01 (10 Days to go) (also Sunday) Last night we ended up going to White spot for some more food, and then went to this bowling place on Granville. The Bowling was wired 5 pins, no holes in the smaller balls, strange. Claire won, so we reccon that it's a shitty type of bowling. Today I have done more revision, for Entomology and Vancouver & its region, these exams are now pissing me off, Entomology I have no hope in, theirs just to much to learn, so Im gonna concentrate on the other 3. Tonight I'm gonna do some more work and then watch a film with Matt and Leigh. I have updated the diary, so that theirs not load of old stuff on it, but still haven't got round to putting on quite a few pics that I took when Anneka was here. If anyone knows of an easy way to put pics up, please e-mail me about it. (d_r_watson@hotmail.com) 1-12-01 ..... Supplemental Did a mega revision session down the library, and now, fed up with work so going out for the night, not sure where or for how long though as normal. I think we that will probably end up eating out cos the caf food is awful.
1-12-01 (First Day of Advent Saturday) Managed a grant total of 4 hours sleep last night, so Im knackered, that being said I got an hours work done this morning, and so Im nearly finished learning all my F&A Climatology. New Plan for stuff to do is that I will stay with Alexa on Vancouver Island, in Victoria I think over New years. But Im looking into coming home in reading week, from the 14th to the 24th of February, next year (2002).
30-11-01 I have finally finished and handed in my Entomology Project, I feel so free!! I have also handed in my job application and resume for a job at Safe walk. Safe walk is a program run by the AMS (student Union) which you can phone up, and 2 people will come and pick you up, and walk you where ever. It's basically to stop people getting attacked and stuff, though I haven't heard of that happening anyway. Other than that today I had all my last classes, and so I have no finished except for exams!!!!!! Andy and I have just been swimming at I think Im gonna watch a film with Matt and Leigh now. At the swimming baths we were appalled with the safety and life Guarding, the pool is pretty big (bigger than Fleetwood) it also curves round, and have a slide, 2 diving boards, 5 cordoned off lanes and tonight it had an inflatable. With out the inflatable in the UK there would need to by at least 3, probably 4 LifeGuards. Here there are only 2, its crazy they stand no chance if stuff is about to happen, its a joke, so Andy and I complained and wrote a letter to the management. Tomorrow, I think Im gonna sleep in and then start with the hard-core revision. Tomorrow night I think some of us are going out on the piss, on last time for the week ahead.
