07-04-02 Work & Work
Well we finally got that other hour, and thanks to stupid daylight savings lost an hour of sleep. This meant that my sleep in until 10:45 was really to 11:45 and so I wasnt actually up properly until past mid-day. Anyway I have done quite a bit of Bio revision today so I guess its all good.
Yesterday I found out more stuff that happened on Friday night, at Arts County, and now only seam to have a half hour gap in the time line which is a lot better than the 4 hour gap I had earlier on Saturday. Then did work, and stuff, and finally watched Train Spotting.
This evening I watched the new Simpsons which was pretty good, then the 7-to-last X-Files episode, which I have to say is the worst one ever, and I dont know if I can be bother to watch the other 6 now. Fox has really lost it, the Simpsons has crazier and crazier plots all the time (this one about home smoking weed) and that X-files was literally a waste of time.
Anyway gonna have a couple of drinks and watch a film now, hopefully drinking enough so I can sleep at a reasonable time, and not get further buggered up by day light savings.
06-04-02 Needing food.
Wow, what the hell happened last night?? Yesterday was the last day of classes for the year. This meant that we all got wasted then went to arts country fair. After consuming 5 beers in 45 mins after eating and all my classes (which luckily finished at noon) we went to Arts County at about 2. Arts County is the big, exrav type thing that goes on here at UBC. Tea Party were headlining, with lots more bands that I havent heard of, but the Canadians seamed to know, on before. Anyway the queues to get in were awful, but I managed to meet a few new people in them, not got a clue who there are though, or where they went, so maybe not meet, maybe more of talk too. Once in we lined up for beer tickets, then finally for Beer. I think I had about 6 Beers in their, but some how got super-wasted. After wandering about and meeting various people, it went dark, and Tea Party came on, Swede, Me and Ashley got quite near the front, and Swede and me went crowed surfing, though it never lasted that long.
Like I said I really dont remember much, but it was brilliant and I was super-ultra-wankered. After it finished at 9, we came back for Pizza, then I fell asleep at about half 10. After sleeping successfully for about 4 hours, I woke up, and after working one where and who I was, decided to watch Goldeneye, and lie in bed. So did that and got back to sleep around 6, for another 4 hours.
Today is most concerned with revision now, after getting some food together. Then possibly trying to work out other things that happened over a few more drinks.
It feels so good to be done classes now, and only have Exams left, but Im very worried about the dissertation, or lack there off.
4-4-02 (yer it was the 4th)
Second to last day of class. I have now finished all my Bio 302 and Geography BC classes, forever, so good. After that I actually went to an extra lecture by one David Susuki, opinionated guy he is. He seamed to have the right ideas about the environment, but didnt really respect any other opinions. For those of you who have never heard of him (like me, before last week) he is quite a big Ecologist and Environ-Mentalist, he has TV shows and stuff.
Yesterday night we went roller blading, round Stanley Park which was cool. I went with Matt, Swede, Boulton, Carly, Ashley, Zara and Brianna, which was a big enough group. My blading skills have deteriorated though over the past few years, mainly due to the lack of effort, and ever-increasing amount of beer.
Anyway later on today, planning on getting drunk, finishing of my assignment and going swimming though not sure which order in. At the moment it looks like Drink Tea assignment Swimming though. Tomorrow is the last day of classes and I should be getting totally wasted, today I lent Max my Whistler pass, and he is gonna pay me back in Weed tomorrow, this coupled with the vast supply of Beer, should make in an interesting day.
3-4-2 A sunny Vancouver Afternoon.
For some reason its really really go weather today, like T-shirt weather. So we have decided to go roller-blading later on round the sea wall.
Dinner was alright, but paying money for food, just to be spoken to in French isnt too good. I think Im totally giving up eating out now, its totally not worth it, I could have got a CD with what I spend last night, even though the meal was subsidised, I just dont care that much about food. Except for sushi.
Last night my dick head of a neighbour kept me up until 2:30. Normally this wouldnt have proved a problem, and in fact I would be up then anyway, but because he insists on playing loud music when he gets up at 7:45am, its crap. Subsequently I get bugger all sleep, because UBC, under the liberal government, believes anyone can go to Uni, even if there stupid (I have Human Kinetics). So after lying awake until about 3:30 thinking of elaborate ways to either kill or severally debilitate him, I managed a grand total of 4 and half hours sleep. He will die!
02-04-02 No Skiing - But Lots of Beer
Hurmm, Well Skiing didn't happen today, Classes were ok, and we managed to get Tyler to drive to the liquor store, and got 30 bottles each, for me and Matt. Tonight we finally going on the 'Brainopoly' dinner, that we won way back in the first term. Should be pretty good.
Yesterday I managed to get quite a lot of work done, no, however the work that is immanent, rather some revision and other stuff that I don't really need to do for a couple of weeks. After deciding not to go into town, because of the 6am get up for skiing, we decided to watch some Enterprise. For some reason the writers of Enterprise decide to do MTV does Star Trek, and manage to make the worst episodes that I have seen for a wile. Anyway at 11:30 I heard from Carly, that Swede, who was picking up our rental car, had had a bit of an accident. In fact he had managed 5mins from the rental centre, before jumping a red light and getting the front of the car knocked of by an articulated truck (or 'Semi'). So after wrecking the car, it was decided not to bother with Skiing. Swede and Boulton, who was also in the car are both fine, so it wasnt that bad in the end.
31-03-02 Easter Sunday and Now Eggs insight!
After 2 mega unproductive days, Im gonna sack of trying to finish my UBC work, which is being really inefficient, and concentrate on my Revision and Dissertation. The first step of revision was too, work out my marks, this is looking pretty good at the moments, but I have 3 subject trailing, both of which have a final worth 40%. I dont think I can do well enough in both of them, so I think decisions are going to have to be made. The next set of revision is to sort though all my notes, which should take the rest of the afternoon, then I will start to actually revise, by which point I will be too tired and stop to watch a film.
Yesterday I didnt do much, until later when after a good meal of Sushi, we did some more trip planning. The root is now finalised, and all hope of getting a car had faded away. Yesterday too, Matt got a network scanning program of the internet, and not can search all the computers on Campus. This undoubtedly lead to lots of Simpsons, Movie and Porn (which is surprisingly absent on our network).
The next 2 days before classes resume, are there for going to be taken up with revision and movies. At the moment plans are afoot to go out on Monday night to a Brit. Night down town, but well see about that. On Tuesday when classes start again (what a 4 Day holiday!!!) I think were skiving and going skiing at Whistler.
29-03-02 I love the smell of napalm in the Morning.
Good Friday, ay, Well I got up late today and watched half the rock before getting bored of it. Gonna do a shit load of work today though, I plan to get all my UBC academic work done, except for exams. I dont think thats gonna happen though.
Last night Matt, Andy, Jenn, Tyler and I went out for dinner at White Spot which was pretty good. Though the term is growing to a close now, and I dont know how long I can put up with certain people, and their stupid comments, to tired. After that, Brianna, Ashley, Matt, Xara, Jenn and I, all piled on Jenns bed to watch Apocalypse Now, on her big monitor and super stereo, the Helicopter scene was amazing.
I havent really done much over the past few days, just work and trying to plan the US trip. I have however after doing a bit of resource this morning on the Internet, found out that Lotus has a new model of the Elise out.

This now surly has to be my goal for the next 4 year, hopefully getting out of Uni with a good degree I will obtain a good job, and quickly earn the £26,000. Probably get in either Blue or Yellow though.
25-03-02 Monday
Yesterday was rather uneventful, I managed to watch 3 films, and do approximately bugger all else. After waking up late (10:30, very late for Canada) I went down to Jenns room and watched Life Of Brian. After that, and a bit of missing about I went with Matt to the Hospital, Matt had fell over wile playing Hockey earlier in the day. He now has a nice Big Cast on his lower Arm, Wrist and strangely thumb, the thumb bit is very annoying because of the lack of opposable digits on his vital right hand. Anyway later on we, Jenn, Matt and I watched Clerks, and then me and matt retired up stairs to watch the end of Transformers the movie, which we had started Friday night.
Today has been exponentially more productive so far, thanks to going to classes. Gonna go skating or Swimming later. Tonight either gonna get an early night, or get super-drunk, not sure which yet.
24-03-02 Sunday Morning.
The last few days have been pretty, good having finally got to a point where I have hardly any work for a week or so. After handing in my Bio ASSignment on Friday, I came back and watch Goldfinger, which is still such a good film, but people dying of skin suffocation in a period of what must be less than an hour, I think not. At 3pm, we went to 99 Chairs for some meal card drinking, and did a Pitcher and a few bottles between Andy, Matt and I. Thursday was Carlys Birthday, so we had planed to go out on Friday, and sure enough we did. After a few more cans in Matts room we set of at 5 to the restaurant. The food there was fairly expensive and not too good either. After eating, we went back to Swedes and played drinking games, to get hammered, which didnt work that well, as I never managed to get as drunk as I had been just before we set of for the meal. The end of the night was spent in Keorners, by this time it being just, Carly, Zara, Brianna, Matt, Boulton, Sweed, Matt and me.
Yesterday, I woke up at 9 and watch the Truman show, which I still think could be remade so much better, by just going into more of the politics and ethics of it. Later on in the afternoon, Matt and I went into town. I picked up Duran Durans 1993 Album and 20 blank CDs. Went we came back, after the obligatory White spot, Matt, Jenn and I watch Magnolia. Still Bloody strange, like what have I done for the passed 3 and a bit hours??.
Today, I had considered going boarding, but instead didnt wake up till past 10 so, Im gonna try and work out some of my dissertation, and then do some revision instead. The week ahead, is only 4 days (getting Friday off), I think I might go to the cinema or Movie Theatre at some time, I want to see the New version of ET, where Speilberg has got people painstakingly to go though changing all the guns into Mobile phones.
20-03-02 How come you sometimes have loads of work, and then other times don't?
Finished all the work I have to do, except the dissertation, but I did e-mail people about that. So now bored-ish and going to either go do some revision for my evil Geography course, or watch Bond. Probably the latter. The snow is still hanging about, though it is now more of a pain in the arse than anything else, especially when you slip down a flight of stairs on the ice created. Not much is going on tonight, a few people are going to the normal pit night, which I expect will be full of sluts as ever. Last night we finished of the last episode of 24 on the net work, which means once again there is nothing good to watch. I have now seen upto episode 15 of 24, and I have to recommend it, though it might be different if your not binge watching it like I did.
19-03-02 More Snow @ UBC
Hurmm, that dissertation think if now getting to be a major pain in the ass. Mainly, because I dont have a clue what to do it on. This is further compounded because I have to decide by Friday, because Lancaster break up then, they get back, the last week before I leave Vancouver too, so Im not going to be able to contact them easily. I also dont get home till the end of term 3 and so cant really use many of the resources at Lancaster like the library and mapping. I dunno what the hell is going to happen, but several people are in the same situation, so that make me feel a bit better.
Yesterday morning I woke up to it snowing again, but not just a bit, a lot and it continued thought out the day. Apparently Vancouver hardly gets any snow normally, and certainly not 3 days before the start of spring. This does mean that it might be good skiing, and Im thinking of going up this Sunday. The snow is still about, but was going a bit today, though it has been snowing more today as well, as not really stopping last night.
Anyway, Today was full of work and illness. The illness part being a direct result of last nights-super drunk state. After getting back from a lab, which was interesting, but probably not of any relevance for the rest of the course, I did some work then decided to get pissed after calling home (no connection there, just simple timing). Managed to drink and watch Monty Pythons Meaning of Life. Later on we, Pat, Sean, Graham, Slone, Punk, Dave, Dave and me, went to Koerners and stayed there from 8:30 till it closed at 2, getting super-drunk. While I was there I managed to meet tones of new people, who apparently lived in Cariboo last year. I cant remember that much really, but it was a good night, with people I dont normally go out with. The rest of today has consisted of doing work, going swimming and then worrying about my dissertation for a bit, before becoming totally apathetic to the situation.
17-03-02 What a weekend - NO WORK WEEKEND
I have done nothing today, absolutely nothing, sat about tried to Erin Brockovich this morning, which was clear a bad idea. Wile lying in bed, wishing I hadnt started I eventually got up to switch it of after an hour, and got up and did some washing. The rest of the day I went to the Beach and ran around a bit (not like a dog). Tonight is the New X-files and Im gonna watch some more 24.
Friday was good though, after working in the morning then having a mid-term at 10, after the next class, came back and sat about till Matt finished at 3. After that we went to 99 Chairs (a restaurant on campus) and had a pitcher of Beer. Next we went of to the Geography beer garden, which was sweet, because if you brought your own cup they would fill that up. For people who had put effort into drinking like us this meant with the huge cups we had, we got a whole pitcher for $4 between the 2 of us(pitcher was $10 in 99 chairs, and 13 in the rest of campus) After some more drinking, we headed of campus to eat a dinner at White spot. We were both absolutely wasted, so decided to stop of at the liquor stone on the way, where I had 4 more glasses of wine (from a taster). At white spot I got a Quasidea, and stone some of Matts fries (Fries are unlimited there). Went we got back onto campus it was about half 7 and we were getting more sober, but not that sober. We then met Andy and Tyler at the Gay beer garden (had free food and cheapish drinks) and went of the Lous bar in town. Drank some at Lous Bar (not like the one in Neighbours at all), then came back to campus for a final time and went to Keorners. I managed to get to bed before 1, after being very drunk or at least 4 hours and drunk to some point from 4 to one.
On Saturday I had a field trip, which was pretty much a waste of time, but wile sitting about behind a wall, collaborating with fellow students about or results, and freezing. I realised how lucky I was to be in such wonderful surrounding, than though how crap its gonna be doing any sort of field work in England, next year. The field trip had started at 8am, hence the early-ish night on Friday, but after consideration starting drinking at 3 is such a good idea. Last night didnt really do that much until the GP, where I went round and watched it at Gage with Clare (better TV!).
Well that was my weekend, and its been totally relaxing, next week is either gonna be hell, or easy going. This depends on if I can manage to change my degree from Geography to Ecology. If not Im gonna have a 1,500 dissertation proposal to hand in on Friday. However its Carlys Birthday on Friday, so will be getting wasted early again on Friday, because of another field trip next Saturday, well that and because its better. I think we might just go for the box of wine though this week.
14-03-02
Got tickets to come home, gonna leave on the 11th of June from Montreal, getting into Manchester some time on Wednesday morning. Crazy, its now dawning on me that I will have to leave the country and come back to England, bugger.
Last night I went to see Man who wasnt there, which I though was a pretty good film, I would certainly recommend you watched it, especially if you like other Cohen Brothers films (like Raising Arizona and Fargo).
My degree is now in total disarray, who knows what the hell is going on with that. I hate stupid dissertations!!
Got lots of work to do anyway, exam tomorrow and all. Gonna work like hell tonight, then get totally wasted tomorrow. I think Im gonna get some Canadian DVDs after all, too.
12-03-02
I hate Group work. The stupid group work with my stupid group is taking forever, and its so annoying. I have an important exam on Friday that I need to do revision for and all my time is being taken up with this silly work. Arrrrgggghhhhh.
Anyway basically doing lots of work at the moment, and will be for the rest of this week, until Friday when my exam is, then gonna get wasted. Got some supplies thought the mail today, Thanks mum.
E-mailed Lancaster today to enquire about how easy it is to change my degree from Geography Major with Ecology minor to and Ecology major with a Geography Minor. Hopefully very easy.
10-03-02
Friday nights Keg party was a success, I managed to get very wasted and sat about out side watching the fire all night. The preceding meal wasnt that good really but for free food I ate rather well.
Yesterday I went snow Boarding with Andy, and a girl from Bio called Sabrina, who as it turned out was neither teenage or a witch. The snow boarding was brilliant though, I can now Carve, not very well, but its possible. I reckon another go should see me getting amazingly better, and beating the steep Learning curve. Last night I went for a meal after Snow Boarding with Andy, Matt, Tyler and her fiancée. The meal was a Mexican, which wasnt that impressive as it was worse than an actual Mexican, but like infinitely more expensive. After getting back form that at about 11, watched half an episode of 24 then fell sleep. Managed to sleep till 10:30 then got up. Have tones of work to do today, including revision for that stupid mid term on Friday.
08-03-02
Last night went to see Amelie, which it defiantly one of the best films I have seen for the last year. Shame its in French though, but its so well done and the ideas in it are amazing, I wont say much more but you HAVE to go see it.
Had a bit of a crazy morning, the first class went well, but in the second one it got stupid. This is EOSC Geological and Biological Oceanography, which sounds good (well it does to me) but is taught by the most moronic and worthless teachers ever, in the history of teaching. The course was split into 2, part one begin taught first about the Geology and then the Biology part later after the reading break. This is more divided than you think with each teacher not even recognising the other. The Geology part, which is finished now, was awful, we did all the learning from the texts and the classes were essentially pointless, in week 3 (now 10) we did a paper, and then did the midterm 3 weeks ago, not had either back yet. The Bio is not much better with the classes going at a speed where even superman couldnt take notes (the friction on the paper, would be to much at that rate), so none of the class know a think thats going on. Anyway today, we start with her explaining how in Mondays class she had made some mistakes, then the Power point presentation starts up, at super speed. 35mins in to the 50min class, the other teacher (Geology one) walks in straight across the current teacher, and put a pile of paper down on the desk. At this point it wasnt sure if this was the midterm, or the first assignment coming back, all the classes attention instantly switched to the paper, as know one know how they are doing in the class at all. The lecture goes on, and on and on, until she eventually is forced to stop at 10:52 (2 minutes after it should have) because some many people had just packed up and started talking and leaving. At this point the 160 people in the class all get up and rush to the unsorted pile of paper at the front of the class. After 10 minutes of basically rushing a pile to find your work, luckily some people had the sense to try and sort it out into alphabetical order after a wile and so the pile got roughly sorted. The situation is now becoming more ridiculous because the next class is really to start, at 11, and all in the room. So 2 minutes into the next classes time, our lecturer decided that thats it and collects all the papers back in that havent been collected. Well I say collects, but at this point the papers were spread over the bottom quarter of the room, having been passed from person to person. After gathering what looks like 90% of the remaining papers, she leaves and tells people to get them from her office (who the hell knows where that is, no one has ever told us that).
Anyway What Im basically saying is that this class is an absolute waste of time and space. Even if after taking the finals we do actually get a grade before 2010, it will be bad, because we havent actually been taught anything. During the whole paper grabbing bit, I talked to several other students and all of them said that they were defiantly gonna fill out the course evaluation, you slam the teachers, and several of them were considering complaining directly to the department. This just goes to show what can happen if you let any old person teach, I agree that they are intelligent (well in the case of Geology was intelligent before he went senile), but this in no way gives them the ability to teach in the slightest.
On a much lighter note, tonight is the night of the Vanier Formal, which has posters such as Its $5 you cheap Bastard and Be there or be Square Well it is only 45, but still I think not. Instead First floor are holding an informal which is looking like being a keg in the parking lot. This has 2 main problems firstly, it is illegal to drink out side in Canada, and secondly a lot of the people there will be under age anyway. But its being organised by Max, who did the Mexico trip, so at the very least I can get pissed for about $8 (3.80 GBP) so Im gonna go for it.
Amelie - Imdb Amelie - MyBC
06-05-02
Not much happening. This evening I noticed that work is piling up, and Im not doing it much, probably not a good idea. So I have done quite a bit of project work this evening, while pre-drinking for tonight. Going out to Keorners and the possibly the scum hole that is the pit.
Went to Keorners on Monday night, it was ok, got drunk and ended up playing shuffle board, which is pretty hard when your drunk and so have bad-bad depth and speed perceptions.
Still not got 2 of my mid-terms back, which is pretty annoying, cos I have no idea how Im doing in either of them course. Anyway bollox to that Im going drinking.
And remember:
You walked into the party, like you were walking on to a yacht
4-3-2 (no 1)
Had quite a successful day today, done lots of work all day, then went swimming. This is a striking contrast to the weekend where I could have squeezed all the work I did into an hour.
Last night we had the Sushi, which was amazing, as always, but didnt go out for a film. Instead came back and attempted to do some work, failing miserably decided to watch Office Space which was a bad, bad film, apparently it was good according to Canadians, but a string of Michael Bolton Jokes doesnt amuse me that easily.
To night, gonna go do some work (he-he-he yer right) and then go get drunk at Keorners I think, if I can talk a few people into drinking (too many people mess about all day, and have to work at night, which should be spend drinking!)
3-3-2
Arr Sunday, the day of rest. That is unless you spent the whole of Saturday pissing about and now have quite a lot of work to do.
Not been up to anything quite that remarkable recently, went into Vancouver a few days ago for Beer and supplies (got another free T-shirt with the beer). Friday night I went out with a load of people first to Keorners, then the Gallery (both pub type bars) then to the pit (Shitty wanna be club) I managed to get pretty drunk and so endured the pit for longer than normal, before returning back. Last night there was a Tiki Party on for our res. Getting back to res at 9ish after the GP, I decided that since other people had gone into town I may-as-well get pissed and go. That was a big mistake, the pre-drinking was fun, but the night its self was awful, and so I returned back to talk to a few people.
T-night might go watch a film, but I think Im going out for Sushi first, which will be a welcome change to the shit they feed us in the café.
1-3-2
Last night, didnt do that much went swimming and sorted out some stuff. Im not facing a dilemma because my 10Gb Hard Drive is now over 4Gb full of music, and I need more room. I think a lot of CDs will need to be burnt. This fact isnt helped by the fact that my mate from last year now is sharing 610 MP3 Music albums, and most of which I wouldnt mind having.
Got some more results back to day, I managed to get 87% in Earth and the Solar System, still waiting for 2 midterms though. Im also pretty worried about my Dissertation now, which I think I will need to base in England, and do over the summer because I dont have enough time here.(though I would love to stay).
Gonna chill out, and watch a film this afternoon, a film may be in order. Qualifying for the Australian GP is on later then going to Keorners to get drunk.
Due to some bugger up, yesterdays post didnt go on, but I have added it now, check below.
28-02-02
Having a well go day today! First of all I didnt fail Geography, I got 14 out of 25 which is still bad, but not as bad as I thought. Then In Bio I spent most of the lesson talking to some girl, who is going on exchange to Australia next year. I also managed to win a snickers bar, for answering some question in class. At the end of the class we got our midterms back and some how I had got 80%, the class average is 57% and only 9 people had got 80 or higher out of the 145. Because the average is so low, she is thinking of raising all the marks by 10% too, which would be like a super-high A+! This proves that intelligence can win out, even with little effort. After Bio, I sat about with Courtney for a wile, talking about stuff, then went to see my TA, who wasnt there, arse. I have just got back form getting some sandwiched from the café, where a particularly cute girl stared talking to me, asking me if I had been swimming recently, I guess I had been swimming with her, or seen her swimming some time. But in any event its always good if a cute girl come up to you and talks to you, and its you who dont know who are.
Yesterday afternoon, Matt, Swede and I went to this computer games place in the village (just of Campus) and played Counterstrike for a few hours, where we meet up with Boulton and Greg. Its a pretty cool game, but I dont think I will be going there when you have to start paying to play there. Later on I went to the Gallery (a bar on Campus) with some of First floor, then we went on to the pit (kinda like a shitty club and bad bar rolled into one). I got incredibly drunk, so say I spent hardly any money, but I now have quite a few beer debts.
Going to do some work now, then possibly go ice skating or swimming.
27-02-02
Yesterday I had quite a relaxing day, and managed to do quite a bit too, and see lots of people. After class I came back and pissed about, cleaned my room, then went to the sub for some stuff. I found out that a plane home from Montreal or Toronto are both $400 CN, which is about 190 GBP, that means that I will have spent only 470 GBP on flying, getting 2 one-ways, compared to the 600-800 everyone else paid. All I have to do now, is work out when I want to come home, which can be from Monday the 10th of June to Thursday the 14th, not sure yet, but the 10th is probably best.
After that I met Leigh (Matts Girl Friend) and I went back to hers for a bit. After Tea, I did some work then went to the Cinema to see Lord of the Rings again, which was still brilliant, the battle scenes are amazing, but I was so tired.
Need to get back into work today, and might sleep for a bit too.

My Trip to Mexico by Daniel Watson
Over my reading week I went on a trip to Mexico with some guys from my house:
T$ - House president, and generally quite juvenile
Pat - Ausi fool
Punk Chris - A guy Named Chris, who like punk music
Chris Couch - Studies forestry, Nice guy.
Max - from Malaysia, 17, speaks Spanish and knows his way around stuff.
Friday
We set of from campus at 7:30 in the morning (a crazy time I know) and got on the bus by 9:45. We then played cards and talked and got very very, very bored. We managed to pick up some weed and stuff in Seattle, but decided not to use it till we got nearer the border.
Saturday
Continued to play cards and talk and get bored. At about 5:20, finally got into LA, 50 mins, late and so mist the transfer and had to hang about in LA until the next bus came. We hung about in the bus station, cos its in a well dodge area of the city. Finally at about 9:30 get into San Diego, where we look around for ages to find a hotel. Getting a motel (paying for 2 sleeping 6) we start to drink (well some of us started before that). The drink in the States is mega cheap $1.45 for a 40oz, 4 of which will get you very drunk, in my case drunk enough to be sick, if you havent eaten much the rest of the day. Then pass out and sleep.
Sunday
Get up with a bad-bad hang over and go for all you can eat pizza, but didnt actually get any. It now began to rain, then we took the bus to the Mexican Border. The boarder is incredibly lax, its a turn stile, then pass a guy with a machine gun, then another turn stile. We then got a taxi to Roserito (talked them down from $15 each to $5 thinking that was good, later we got all the taxies for $1 each), where after looking in a few hotels we found one and moved in 6 people, 2 rooms, 4 beds. We went in the hotel Jacuzzi that was extremely migin and left a scum on your back, probably not a good idea in retrospect. Punk Chris managed to block out toilet, which proved very annoying. That night we went out to the local clubs and managed to find all you can drink for $5 which was amazing, so we drank up and got wasted. Though out the night we went to a few different bars and clubs, and managed to get thrown out of Papas and Beer the biggest one.
Monday
Got up, cant remember most of the day, but we basically wandered about Roserito and the beach, and smoked up and drank. We also changed hotel rooms for some reason getting upgraded to ones with a sea view and a TV, dunno why, but it was cool. Within the day we had managed to destroy both toilets and flood the bathrooms, I dunno how, I did one and havent a clue what happened to the other. Then went out to Tijuana and found all you can drink for $4 so got drunk in a total dead club playing crazy drinking games. When we returned, Pat who was in the other room with T$ and Couch, puked up big time, but not just normal puke, no, Black puke which looked like mud. He Managed to do it all over couched stuff to, which sucked.
Tuesday
Earlier in the week some time we had met a guy galled Daniel who was one of the pushers for the local clubs, be had arranged to show us round Tijuana. So we went with him and looked round the non-touristy side of Tijuana. There were prostitutes everywhere and so much poverty. The police (who quite often batter and steel from tourists) were not there as much instead there were the Federalies, who carried round Machine guns and looked hard. We had a well good dinner in a restaurant for $3, before and after this pretty much all we ate was tacos and Quasideas, which are ok and cheap, but very repetitive. In the afternoon we went back and smoked up on the beach, then returned to Tijuana after tea. When back in Tijuana we went to numerous strip bars, which all played strange music, well not strange but music you wouldnt normally associate with a stip bar, like U2, The Beatles and Duran Duran (which I obviously liked), it was quite an enjoyable night.
Wednesday
We laid in all morning in bed, then got up and went down to the beach, where we sat about for a bit then went on a horse ride, which was amazing. I dont know how horse riders can walk after they get of, it bloody hurts, but is such good fun. That night is college night in Tijuana, so we went out, and had to pay $10 for all you can drink, which is way too much really, but got pretty drunk. We all stayed together most of the time, then split up, Me, Max and Chris Couch getting bored and going to another club. The other club was a Mexican one, and we were the only white people in it. We sat down with 2 guys (in there 40s) and drank, talking about stuff. I was cool and a lot different than most of the touristy clubs.
Thursday
We got up well late, it way very windy, but very, very hot, so we went down to the beach to piss about. Lied down for a wile listening to music then played in the Pacific Ocean in the waves. This was probably the most fun I had, it was great just getting knocked back 10 meters by the sheer power of the water, crazy. That night we met up with some girls for a smoke and then went to bed relatively early, after sitting about watching TV and stuff.
Friday
Time to go back, left for San Diego at mid-day, and it took ages to get back into the US, there were huge queues at the boarder, which sucked in the very hot weather. However we met there 2 guys who asked us if we wanted to come back for a wile to chill until are bus left. After negotiating the border this time with 7L of Tequila and a flick knife (probably not a good idea Max). We went to the guys house and watch the Olympics for a wile and talked. I have to say that this trip in the whole has made me thing even less about the arrogant opinionated fat Americans, but it was nice of them to ask us round, even with there supremacist views. We then got the bus at 8:30.
Saturday
More stupid bus, we stopped for dinner at this out the way place were everything was shut, then at 12:30am (Sunday) stopped for and hour and a half to clean the bus. Thats messed up, stupid scheduling!
Sunday
5am, got into Seattle, and sat about for 3 hours for our connection, boring. Getting Back to Vancouver at about 13:30.
Though out Saturday and Sunday afternoon, I had been revising for the mid-term today, which was crap, and I dunno how well I have done yet.
Its now Monday and I have just finished e-mailing about a million people, very tired and with lots of work to do over the next few days. Wishing I was back in sunny warm Mexico with nothing to do except get wasted and Eat Tacos.
